The Badass Bulletin – January Edition

Welcome to the relaunch of our Badass Bulletin feature!  We’re changing the frequency to monthly for now, but you’ll still find all our happenings and reviews for the month here in one place.  January was very busy for us Badass ladies, but we’re very pleased with what we’ve accomplished to kick off 2014!

As Seen On

We reviewed twenty (20) books this month!  Not all of them were winners, we but definitely found some early favorites for 2014.  AH already pegged her favorite book of 2014 with Red Rising, while Christal couldn’t recommend Archetype more highly.  Michelle found Runner to be even more enjoyable than she expected and Regina stumbled upon a beautiful romance in Live.  Did you miss any of our reviews?  Check them out below!

Features and Memes:

Our January features included the last post in our Badass Best of 2013 series, Our Most Anticipated 2014 Reads, as well as a new feature, Our 2014 Reading Resolutions!  We spotlighted new releases for January and February and brought you a slew of Young Adult mini reviews.

For our memes, the return of Genre Book Showdown featured a face off between Lisa Shearin and Jaye Wells.  We kicked off our 2014 Jumble Your Genres Reading Challenge with a group review of Unaccompanied Minor and AH launched our newest meme, Science Fiction Saturdays, with a review of We Will Destroy Your Planet.

Author Publicity and Promotion:

Shawntelle Madison was kind enough to be the debut author for our newest feature, Featured Author Fridays.  Maya Banks stopped by for a Q&A about her newest book, Letting Go, and Sandy Williams returned to talk about the last book in her Shadow Reader trilogy, The Sharpest Blade.  We also revealed the book trailer for Strange Chemistry’s upcoming release, Some Fine Day by Kat Ross, and participated in the launch day blitz for Jessica Sorensen’s The Destiny of Violet & Luke.

We have one active giveaway going on right now, so be sure to get your entries in ASAP!

Letting Go Giveaway

Be sure to check back next month so that you don’t miss any of our Badass posts!  We also plan to include industry news and book-related discussions in the upcoming months.  Let us know if there is anything else you would like to see recapped in our monthly feature.
