We at Badass Book Reviews strive to make your reading experience pleasurable. We read the good, the bad, and the outstanding and then we tell you all about them. If you’ve noticed, a lot of these books are parts of a series and we’ve decided that it’s time we gave you information about our favorite series.
When I joined Goodreads two years ago, I discovered a whole new world of Urban Fantasy and Paranormal Romance series. I’m so glad I did. I’ve started a lot of series – even finished a few – and I am enjoying the experience.
In choosing which series to spotlight, I think it’s best to highlight completed series or series that have enough books to keep you busy for a while. There is nothing worse than getting to the end of a book and suffering through a painful cliffhanger **cough**cough** Shadowfever**cough** Now that was a long wait between Dreamfever and Shadowfever!
So welcome to our new feature – Sucker for Series. We’ll try to tell you about our favorite series, the reading order, our favorite characters, our favorite book in the series and….OCD readers please turn away for a moment…if you can read the series out of order. We’ll challenge you to start reading the series, tell us your favorite parts (no spoilers, please!), or your favorite characters.
I’ve chosen Karen Moning’s Fever series our first Sucker for Series spotlight. This week marks the one year anniversary of Shadowfever, one of the most highly anticipated books last year. If you haven’t read the Fever series, it is a treat. The Fever series follows pretty in pink Mac as she looks for her sister’s killer in fae infested Dublin. Fever also stars the mysterious and oh, so sexy Barrons and the death by sex fae V’Lane. A word of warning – many readers hate Mac for the first book or so. Mac does grow and mature and by book 5, I adored her.
Please ensure that you have books 3, 4, and 5 ready because those cliffhangers at the end of each book are diabolical. We had to wait quite a while between Dreamfever and Shadowfever and the wait was unbearable.
