It’s friday, and you know what that means! Parajunkee is hosting feature and follow! Honestly, I cannot believe it’s friday again. It feels like it was just friday. The days are going by faster and faster. Anyways, onwards–
If you are new to the #FF fun, Feature and Follow Friday is a blog hop that expands your blog following by a joint effort between bloggers and is now hosted by TWO hosts, myself of course and Alison of Alison Can Read. Each host will have their own Feature Blog and this way it’ll allow us to show off more new blogs!
How does this work? First you leave your name here on this post, then you create a post on your own blog that links back to this post (easiest way is to just grab the code under the #FF picture and put it in your post) and then you visit as many blogs as you can and tell them “hi” in their comments (on the post that has the #FF image). You follow them, they follow you. Win. Win. Just make sure to follow back if someone follows you!
Now to make this #FF interesting we do a FEATURE blogger. If you are interested in becoming a Feature click on the drop down link above FEATURES > Feature & Follow Friday and get on the waiting list! It is also required, that if you participate you must follow the hosts (Parajunkee and Alison Can Read) and the two Feature blogs.

This week’s question is: How has your reading habits changed since you were a teen? Or, if your still a teen, what is the genre you are loving?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Erika: When I was a teen, I read a lot of crime drama, forensic science thrillers and V.C Andrews. After I had children I had to take a break from the more “real” books with death, destruction and violence against {children} so I turned to Urban Fantasy. It soothed my need to read about kick ass people, but with that touch paranormal that allowed me to escape and just have fun reading. I can now read more suspense books, but I prefer the Romantic Suspense genre over more plain suspense thrillers.
AH: I read tons of Stephen King and James Michener, and John Grisham when I was younger. Young adult books didn’t really exist when I was a teen. I stopped reading for a while when my kids were younger. They just took so much energy and I would veg in front of the television instead of reading. A few years ago I started reading again. I picked up Twilight and enjoyed the series. I then devoured the Sookie Stackhouse books. Since then, I have discovered so many wonderful authors in the Urban Fantasy and Paranormal Romance world. My favorites include Kelley Armstrong, Patricia Briggs, Ilona Andrews, J.R. Ward, Jeaniene Frost, Karen Moning, Rachel Vincent, Kevin Hearne and Jim Butcher. I’m always excited to find new authors and series to love.
LethalLovely: I can’t say that my reading habits have changed since then. After all, I was still a teen just two short years ago. I read my first romance novel when I was thirteen. Janelle Taylor’s “Moondust & Madness”. To my naive, prepubescent mind, it was AWESOMESAUCE! Sex and seduction in outerspace? Hell yeah! After that, I started reading old school historical romances and urban fantasy. And lots and lots of YA. Sarah Dessen and Sharon Creech. Now, at the age of 21, I read the same genres. The only difference is that I look for older heroines (17 +) in my YA novels since I can relate to them more and now I read erotic romances, which is a good thing. I don’t think my virgin mind could’ve handled butt sex and menages at thirteen.
Next Friday August 26th, we have an Author Interview with Jess Macallan of Stone Cold Seduction, complete with Ebook Giveaway (Run 8/29-9/6)
Hey ladies – it's great to see how your reading tastes have evolved. I've also stuck with genres I enjoyed as a teen, but I've also branched out and gotten more adventurous through my 20s (30 now).
Thanks for following Lex, Back at you
Too funny – I read V.C Andrews' – the Heaven series was my absolute favorite! I too started back reading with the help of the Twilight series. When I read it I thought, "Man, could there be any better books? If there are I just can't see it." It's funny how a few years and a couple hundred books change your prespective on a series that re-sparked your love of reading. I can honestly answer, yes there are MANY, MANY books better than Twilight!
