Review: The Lady Julia Grey Bundle by Deanna Raybourn

I am a big Deanna Raybourn fan (see my review of A Spear of Summer Grass) and have really enjoyed her Julia Grey novels. They are historical mysteries with just a hint of paranormal and Amazon is currently packaging the first three books as a bundle for only $9.99. This is a steal for three terrific books so I thought I would share this deal with you, lovely readers, and give you my take on each of the books.   Silent in the Grave by Deanna Raybourn Book #1 in the Lady Julia Grey Mysteries Genre: Historical Mystery Publication Date: [ Read More of this Review ]

Review Casual Vacancy by J.K. Rowling

Casual Vacancy by J.K. Rowling *audio book purchased from audible.com* Regina’s Rating: 5 Stars/Grade A+ Blurb: When Barry Fairbrother dies in his early forties, the town of Pagford is left in shock. Pagford is, seemingly, an English idyll, with a cobbled market square and an ancient abbey, but what lies behind the pretty façade is a town at war. Rich at war with poor, teenagers at war with their parents, wives at war with their husbands, teachers at war with their pupils…Pagford is not what it first seems. And the empty seat left by Barry on the parish council soon [ Read More of this Review ]

Wrong Bed, Right Guy by Katee Robert Book 1 – Come Undone Book provided by Entangled Publishing AH’s Review – 3.5 Skulls – B+ Wrong Bed, Right Guy by Katee Robert is a nice little diversion. Defiance by C. J. Redwine Book 1 in Defiance series Book provided by Edelweiss and the publisher Release date: August 28,2012 Genre: Young Adult/Dystopian AH’s Review – 4 skulls – A- Dystopian books fascinate me. Just how horrible can society become? In Defiance, the population cowers in their walled city of Baalboden. Outside the walls, there is only barren wastelands populated by The Cursed One a cross between a big giant worm and a fire breathing dragon. (Think Tremors). Life in the city is not that much safer. The citizens of Baalboden are ruled by the ruthless Commander Chase, a [ Read More of this Review ]

Seven Day Loan by Tiffany Reisz

Seven Day Loan by Tiffany Riesz Prequel to The Original Sinners Series (*see note below) Book provided by NetGalley and the Publisher AH’s Review – 4 Skulls – A- Ever wonder about Nora from The Siren’s early days? This short story (33 pages) is a week in young Eleanor’s life. Tiffany Reisz is fast becoming a favorite author for me. Her books are not for everyone – if you are squeamish or uncomfortable with the unconventional – maybe go look for another book to read. If you are the curious sort, like me, you will be rewarded with an excellent [ Read More of this Review ]

Quick Review: Who likes Menage? If not, look away!

Booty Call by Benjamin T. Russell and Michelle Chatton I bought this book from All Romance     Mrs. Badass says: I’m not sure where to start this post. There are many layers. I’m not the largest Menage story fan. Yea, yea. I know right? What the fuck is wrong with me. Sorry folks, this happily married woman has a hard time with more than one partner in a story. So saying, I’ve made some friends in my (new) writing career. (Side note, is it considered a career? My book publishes soon, so I guess? But not technically…anyway) Whatever, [ Read More of this Review ]

ARC Review: Demon Bait by Moira Rogers

Demon Bait by Moira Rogers, Children of the Undying #1 I received this ARC from Moira Rogers…thanks you two awesome peeps!   Erika’s Review: Grade: B Novella’s are always hard for me to review. On one hand they can have some cool elements, but on the other hand, it’s hard to fully explore a world, or romance. Usually one or the other suffers.  Demon Bait by Moira Rogers is a cool introduction to their demon world. I saw they are calling the series “Children of the Undying”. I have to admit, that I am clueless about that [ Read More of this Review ]

Review: New York to Dallas by J.D Robb

My Review Grade A I’m giving it a fan girl 5 star rating, even though it’s more of a 4 star book for me. But It’s Roarke people…Eve and Roarke. So 5 stars or Grade A New York to Dallas is a fitting title for this latest installment of the in death series, and fans can tell the series is winding down, and coming to an end. Story ARC’s are being closed, Loose ends tied down, and memories put to bed. LT Eve Dallas is taking on a serial pedophile back from her rookie days who escaped [ Read More of this Review ]
