ARC Review: Reflected in You by Sylvia Day
Book 2 in Crossfire Series
Release Date: October 23, 2012
Book provided by Penguin Group

Synopsis from Goodreads: Gideon Cross. As beautiful and flawless on the outside as he was damaged and tormented on the inside. He was a bright, scorching flame that singed me with the darkest of pleasures. I couldn’t stay away. I didn’t want to. He was my addiction… my every desire… mine.

My past was as violent as his, and I was just as broken. We’d never work. It was too hard, too painful… except when it was perfect. Those moments when the driving hunger and desperate love were the most exquisite insanity. We were bound by our need. And our passion would take us beyond our limits to the sweetest, sharpest edge of obsession…

AH’s Review – 4 skulls – A-

“Gideon woke up ready to conquer the world and he liked to start that domination with me.

How lucky was I?”

I’ve added Sylvia Day’s Crossfire series to my “guilty pleasures” shelf. I absolutely adored Reflected in You. It was even better than Bared to You.

Reflected in You is the continuing story of Eva Tramell, a wealthy young New York socialite and her stunningly gorgeous millionaire lover Gideon Cross. Set about one month after the events of Bared to You, Reflected in you is an intense love story. What’s interesting about these two characters is the fact that despite their excessive wealth, they are by no means perfect. Each character brings the baggage kind of trauma into the relationship. Each suffered from some kind of sexual abuse which makes their relationship just a little messed up.

Gideon and Eva have an incredibly intense bond. They are both needy and dependent upon each other. Gideon is extremely possessive and protective of Eva. They do lack in communication skills: Gideon is a little secretive and Eva tends to run rather than express herself.

“We’re so fucked up, and I’ve handled everything all wrong. We’re going to kill each other with this. We’ll tear each other apart until there’s nothing left.”

It never ceased to amaze me just how hot Eva and Gideon are together. The love scenes are smoking hot usually followed by some kind of angst. Angry car sex – check. Sex on a beach – check. Mile high club sex – check.

There is a story in between all those hot scenes and I enjoyed how bits of Eva and Gideon’s past are revealed. These two still have a lot to work through. Reflected in You is an exhilarating read and I can’t wait to read book 3 – Entwined in You.

Rating: ☠  ☠  ☠  ☠  ☠

AH

AHHi all! Bonjour! I’m AH and I am obsessed with reading. I read all kinds of books, but my favorites are paranormal romance and urban fantasy. What is it about those vampires and shape-shifters? Lately, I seem to be reading a lot of dystopian books as well. Are zombies the new vampire? I hope not. I have 3 boys – all reluctant readers so I tend to read a lot of young adult books aimed at boys. I want them to catch the reading bug too! I’m looking forward to sharing my thoughts about books with you. Hope we can discover some great reads together.
